@anonymiss Psychologist refer to it as golden age syndrome. Part of it comes down to, if you were young, life was simpler and easier. The other part is our brains are designed to process bad things in the present more quickly than the good and then forget them faster, less likely to commit suicide. So the now is always worse than the past was, cause brains are ignoring the bad from then. Once you know this bias is easier to realize that the past was also pretty awful
