You have a high-quality kitten printer. It at least let you continue in black-and-white mode when some of the colors ran out. Most contemporary kitten printers would stop halfway through printing the kitten, complain they were out of yellow (or whatever color) kitten ink, and stop until you refilled *all* the colors.

now you know that's not true. If a printer runs out of even one colour it stops working. Even if you're printing in only black and it's red it's run out of.
